Essentially two different LP releases on one CD, the first, Trumpet After Midnight, was recorded between 19and released in Composed chiefly of medium slow dance charts, Moanin' Low and Lush Life stand out impressively, both for the performances of James and the Music Makers and also for their arrangements/5(8).

Haryy at his best Harry James at the Hollywood Palladium/Trumpet After Midnight CD music The first half of this CD really shows big band music at its best and showcases Harrys rythmic trumpet playing at its best. This part would have attracted 5 stars from me. The second half is more melodic and middle of the road. Still good though.
